Our College’s anti-UAV Tech Keep CIIE Safe

 From 5th to 10th, November, 2018, the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held successfully in Shanghai. According to the invitation from the Ministry of Public Security, the “new anti-UAV radar” developed by the Passive Radar Team, took part in the task of safety guard at low altitude in the whole course, and focused on monitoring “low, small, slow” aircrafts like UAVs around National Convention and Exhibition Centre, ensuring that the CIIE would proceed smoothly. 
     CIIE is the first national import expo in the world, with Chairman Xi Jinpin and 18 foreign heads of states and governments presenting at the opening ceremony, 172 countries, regions and international organizations attending meetings, and more than 3600 enterprises participating in the exhibition. In order to make sure that the “new anti-UAV radar” play the good performance thoroughly and performs stable surveillance, the team carried out a thorough survey of the National Convention and Exhibition Center as well as its surrounding in advance, and according to the complicated application environment, made a detailed working plan and the implement scheme. During the CIIE, the “new anti-UAV radar” cooperated with other anti-UAV equipment such as the photoelectric detection, radio detection and the electromagnetic jammer, acquired the low altitude security situation of key areas in real time and detected many suspicious targets in time, then performing accurate identification and precise anti-interference, successfully completing security guard task, finally.
     According to the introduction of the team leader, professor Wan, “new anti-UAV radar” is a kind of passive detection technology, which can detect low-altitude targets such as UAVs, birds and balloons without electromagnetic radiation, and it is environmental-friendly, frequency spectrum saved, safe and secluded, cost-controllable and networked easily. This technology has been supported by the National Key R&D Program of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Major Projects), and the Technology Innovation Program of Hubei Province (Major Projects). In recent years, with the practical application and examination in many major activities, this technology has been making a notable promotion in the performance, and has broad application prospects in the fields of Counter-terrorism Safety Guard, ATC at airports and Air Defense.
