报告题目：Physical-Layer Enablers of Future Wireless Networks: Security, Reconfigurable Propagation, and Cell-Free Architectures

报告摘要：

Future wireless networks beyond 5G are expected to support scalable, resilient, and secure connectivity across diverse and dynamic environments. Achieving these goals requires a shift from conventional network-centric design towards physical-layer–driven innovations. This talk explores key physical-layer enablers for next-generation wireless systems, focusing on three main directions: distributed architectures, intelligent and reconfigurable propagation, and physical-layer security. Through representative examples including cell-free massive MIMO with optical fronthaul, RIS-assisted communication, and secret key generation with hardware-based primitives, the talk highlights how modeling, optimization, and learning-assisted techniques can enhance system performance under practical constraints.

报告人简介：

Sobia Jangsher is an Assistant Professor in School of Electronic Engineering with Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland. She received her PhD from The University of Hong Kong in the field of Optimization for wireless communication in 2015. Prior to joining DCU, She has worked an Assistant Professor for the Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan fro  Nov' 2015 - Jan 2021. From Jan' 2021 - Feb '2023,  she was associated with Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Her research mainly focuses on optimization/resource allocation for IRS systems, multiple access schemes and small cell networks. She has also interests in the application of AI/ML for wireless communication.  She has authored over 50 research articles including peer reviewed journals and conference and workshop proceedings in well known journals and conferences in the field of wireless communication.
